Polypropylene was widely used in furniture from the 1960’s and more recently can be found in ropes, thermal underwear, carpets and the lids of tic-tacs.

As you can imagine, with all the different uses of this man made thermoplastic polymer, it often ends up on the rubbish dump where it sits for years.

Now a young UK based designer has decided to give second hand thermal underwear a new lease of life by transforming them, and other Polypropylene products, into lampshades!
