Rent A Christmas Tree

Reviewed: 11th December 2008

Rent A Christmas TreeWe’ve already suggested Growing Your Own Christmas Tree in an attempt to make Christmas a little more eco friendly but if you’re not green fingered, there is another alternative, rent one instead!

Now you can stop the needless annual harvest of Christmas trees that always end up burning on a fire, or being thrown into a local land fill. The fake ones, as we know, contain petroleum materials that are dangerous for the environment so why not rent one?

Chris Evans BBC Radio2 show, had Martin from Trees For Rent explaining the service they offered which is a unique idea. Trees For Rent will deliver, manage, maintain and pick up your Christmas tree and you can choose from a small 2ft tree to a 10ft tree. Whether its for your home or business, you simply order the size and type of tree, let them know when you want it delivered or if your local, you can even choose your own from their stock of over 500 pot grown trees.

Grow Your Own Christmas Tree

Reviewed: 25th November 2008

Grow Your Own Christmas TreeThe word on the street is that this year, christmas tree prices are set to soar, mainly due to the weak pound. The average tree this Christmas could set you back £40 and you may struggle to find the most popular species, a Nordmann fir, due to its ever growing popularity.

Don’t be fooled that purchasing an artificial one is better for the environment either! Although artificial trees last longer, they’re made up of PVC which aren’t naturally biodegradable and could therefore pollute a landfill site for many years to come.

Maybe its now time to seriously consider growing your own Christmas Tree in time for Christmas 2009? By growing your own Christmas Tree you will not only save money (the kit costs under £5) but from next year you won’t have to head off out in the cold, load a tree in your car and then have the problem of disposing of it.

By introducing an eco friendly solution to Christmas, this little tree will fast become part of the family and a christmas tradition within itself. Inside this ingenious box are plant seeds, a compost pellet and a terracotta pot, basically everything required to help you get growing and becoming eco friendly.
