Adopt A Polar Bear This Christmas

Reviewed: 18th November 2008

Adopt A Polar Bear This ChristmasPolar Bears were recently featured on ITV’s Special News Report, where Lawrence McGinty travels to the land of the polar bear to discover the truth about the plight of the animal that has become an icon of climate change.

Climate change is the main cause of the Arctic ice melting, and what little remains is getting thinner and more treacherous every day. Polar bears rely on ice to hunt, allowing them to reach seals at the edge of the seas, however they now have to travel further and wait longer in order to reach their food.

As the sea ice melts the areas is also exposed to shipping and oil exploration adding pollution to the many threats the polar bear already faces today.

Adopt a polar bear today and help WWF save the polar bear and its home from the effects of climate change and pollution. We must act now to try and save the polar bear from extinction.
